Job Description
Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking an Executive Chef to lead and manage a high-volume food production program, catering, and special events at the Virginia Theological Seminary. The ideal candidate should possess strong culinary and management skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for diversity.
Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with production staff on food production activities.
- Purchase organically and locally produced foods, incorporating them into daily offerings.
- Oversee menu development, purchasing, and production, keeping up with current trends.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Lead and develop team members through coaching and feedback.
- Implement and maintain HACCP standards.
- Deliver high-end catering services.
- Assist in financial planning, budget analysis, and reporting.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or five years of related experience.
- 5+ years in Food Service Operation, Catering Management, and High-Volume Dining.
- Knowledge of current food trends and sustainable practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification preferred.
