Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Manager, Claims Operations to join our team at USAA. As the Manager, Claims Operations for Auto Non-Injury, you will be responsible for overseeing auto and other claims operations, managing a team of member service employees, and ensuring exceptional member service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review claim files for quality and provide feedback to employees.
  • Drive awareness and understanding among employees of how their work contributes to overall strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead and champion change, and create conditions for success.
  • Manage workload volumes, staffing, and training needs for optimal productivity.
  • Handle escalations and make policy-based decisions.
  • Coach employees for career progression and support projects as a subject matter expert.
  • Recruit, develop, and coach claims employees for successful results delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience.
  • 6 years of progressive customer service, operational, military, or leadership experience.
  • 2 years of claims handling experience and direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Ability to interpret data and demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance adjuster license.

What Sets You Apart

  • Prior experience as a Claims Manager.
  • Master’s Degree and/or CPCU designation.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects or initiatives.
  • Prior contact center management or process/compliance experience.
  • US military experience.
