We are seeking a full-time Medical Lab Assistant to join our Microbiology team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a cooperative working environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and collaboration with colleagues.
• Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Follow procedural directions and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Handle specimen packaging and transport correctly.
• Perform patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen receipt, processing, and distribution.
• Ensure infection control, proper patient identification, and specimen transport.
• Conduct drug screen collection and processing.
• Manage laboratory department phone calls and phlebotomy draw list.
• Conduct courier duties and respond to emergent conditions appropriately.
• Provide phlebotomy services professionally and engage in self-evaluation for improvement.
• Accountability for the quality of patient care and service excellence.
• Perform laboratory tests, prepare equipment, and assist other personnel as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and strong customer service abilities.
• Preferred certifications: phlebotomy and medical lab assistant.
• Experience in a clinical setting is desirable.
