Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients throughout their perioperative journey. Your responsibilities will include pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure evaluation, pain management, and patient/family education.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, and have a minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience. Critical Care experience is preferred, and ACLS certification is required with PALS certification expected within 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care using the nursing process.
- Ensure a coordinated perioperative experience for patients.
- Assist physicians during procedures and monitor patients.
- Evaluate outcomes and prevent complications.
- Provide effective pain management and patient/family education.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience.
- ACLS certification required, PALS expected within 12 months.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities.
