Registered Veterinary Technician, Surgery, SAGE San Francisco

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team at SAGE San Francisco. As a vital part of our veterinary community, you will be responsible for assisting in various surgical procedures, providing compassionate care to our patients, and supporting their families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites and equipment for procedures.
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery.
• Assist in surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique.
• Provide postoperative care, including monitoring recovery and medication.
• Take and process X-rays as needed.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding postoperative care.
• Assist in emergency surgeries and administer medications as required.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Active CA-RVT license preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of clinical and surgical experience in a Specialty Practice.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and perform necessary calculations accurately.
• California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required or obtainable within 60 days of hiring.
