Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Assistant Director, Financial Assistance to join our team at Bentley University. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the delivery of financial aid to both prospective and continuing undergraduate and graduate students. Your responsibilities will include counseling students and families on financial aid options, reviewing aid applications, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and representing the Student Financial Services office at various functions.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel financial assistance applicants/recipients throughout the financial aid process.
  • Analyze and evaluate financial reports and tax documents to determine aid eligibility.
  • Make professional judgment decisions within federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  • Manage Bentley University's Federal Pell Grant Program.
  • Oversee the Satisfactory Academic Progress process and act as the liaison to the Housing office.
  • Work on various cleanup processes and other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of financial aid administration experience in higher education.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with technology, web-based applications, and PowerFAIDs/Workday (desirable).

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment with WFH options.
  • Typical office setting with minimal travel.
  • Overtime required during peak periods and for events.
